Pre-Ballet

Modern/Contemporary Dance

Jazz 

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Tap

Tap dance is characterized by using the sounds of the tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Tap combines a love of dance, music and performance and teaches dancers about choreography, improvisation and syncopation.   It is not only fun but an excellent way to help children with their musicality and rhythm! Musical Theater

Character Dance

Introduces students to another aspect of classical ballet – the folk-inspired dances from many nations that are often incorporated into classical repertory.
